They say that moving is one of the most stressful things you’ll ever do. So why add more stress to the whole situation than is absolutely necessary? Buying property is a big deal. It’s a hefty investment and the stack of paperwork that goes with the experience is pretty daunting. But who says it has to be this way?
Choosing your home is many things—exciting, exhilarating, joyful, and nerve-racking—but one thing it doesn’t have to be is stressful.
…because that’s way more exciting than getting caught up in the nightmare of red tape and paperwork.
Look, buying your next home (or your first!) is about as big as it gets. It’s not something people do frequently and it’s definitely not like popping into a car showroom to buy yourself a nice new ride.
This is the bricks and mortar that you will call home.
The place you’re going to hang your family pictures on the wall, make memories with them and celebrate all those milestones in the coming years. Choosing your home is many things—exciting, exhilarating, joyful, and nerve-racking—but one thing it doesn’t have to be is stressful.
With our help and expertise, we can make sure it won’t be.
When it comes to selling a property, the responsibilities can be more overwhelming than you’d expect. The worry that your house won’t measure up under inspections, that something could go wrong while searches are going through and the million-and-one ways that could stop your sale in its tracks is enough to keep anyone up at night.
This building that was once your home, filled with all the memories, needs a stress-free goodbye, not a feeling of “good riddance” as you hurry out the door after a difficult sale.
Because you’re a smart property-owner who knows the best thing to do is put your sale into the hands of a capable team of conveyancers who’ll manage all the hard stuff for you.
While the professionals are negotiating contracts and making sure every clause is as it should be, you can focus on packing your belongings, making arrangements for the move, and spend your time dreaming about where the next step in your life journey is about to take you.
This building that was once your home, filled with all the memories, needs a stress-free goodbye, not a feeling of “good riddance” as you hurry out the door after a difficult sale.

All set for smooth “sale-ing”?
From the second you say “yes” to a purchase or sale of a property, things move pretty fast and it can be a whirlwind of form-filling, information-gathering and contract-examining.
The moment you’re handed keys (or hand them over) can feel like a bit of an anti-climax. When you’ve been so focused on all the legalities and contractual obligations, it’s hard to feel excitement for the changes that are about to happen. We can change that.
Working with Impero Conveyancing as your trusted conveyancers means you’ll have more time to enjoy the whole experience so that, when you’re walking up the path, keys in hand, you can fully enjoy the moment and relish the feeling that this is your new home.
Let’s deal with those tricky strata plans, reports and by-laws so you can focus on all the other stuff (packing, measuring furniture, making sure the kettle doesn’t go missing!).
Buying off-the-plan can be a bit of a leap into the unknown so we can be your experienced guides, making sure you know exactly what to expect when you buy your home this way.
Life happens and things change. Whether it’s through a change of name, marriage dissolution or loss of a loved one, we’ll be happy to help in dealing with the registration of transfer.
This is the moment every future home owner feels the most excitement. You’ve just found the house you’ve been looking for and you want to move in, like, yesterday! While we encourage anyone thinking about buying a home to contact a conveyancer as soon as they can, this is usually the point when you’ll really be thinking about it. So, no more hesitation. Pick up the phone, jump onto our contact page or come and see us and let’s have a chat!
You’ll start by signing and exchanging contracts and putting your deposit down so you’ll need to make sure you have all that in order. In the meantime, it’s time to finalise your finances and make sure your mortgage documents are in order.
While you’re drumming up a decent collection of cardboard boxes and packing paper and organising all your stuff ready for the big move, we’ll be doing searches on the title, liaising with your bank, negotiating with the other parties’ conveyancer/solicitor, arranging settlement, and arranging to transfer council and water rates into your name. This is also where you need to be arranging to connect your utilities (electricity, gas, phone, internet, insurance) and letting people know of a change of address.
You’ll need to arrange a pre-settlement inspection with your Real Estate Agent a day or so before settlement. Meanwhile, we’ll run through your settlement figures and make sure everything is as it should be!
The big day is here! Impero, your bank, the other side’s conveyancer/solicitor and their bank will all meet to hand over the necessary paperwork and cheques, using Pexa, an online process which minimises the manual processes and paperwork involved in property settlements. It also minimises the risk of errors and delays with booking in last minute settlements.
And move in! Congratulations on your new home!

Conveyancing is the term used for transferring the title of a property from one person to another. So, simply put, a conveyancer is the person who facilitates that transaction.
What makes us different from solicitors is that we only deal with property exchange and legislation, while solicitors typically deal with lots of other aspects of the law too.
In short, no.
A conveyancer can deal with every aspect of your transaction without the additional need of a solicitor.
That being said, there are some areas where you might need to consult a solicitor—such as in writing a will, if you haven’t done it already, or if an issue arose where you’d need to go to court, you would need a solicitor to act on your behalf. But the chances of that happening are incredibly minimal. With more than 20 years of experience, we’ve never had to deal with that issue yet!
While we’d love to be able to give you a specific figure, every transaction is unique and there are a lot of factors we have to consider before we can clearly outline the costs involved. We tailor our service to the properties involved and the needs of each transaction which is why we like to have a chat and ask you lots of questions about your situation to start with.
Each person who reaches out to us for our services has an individual story and unique experience so we don’t want to treat you like any other business transaction at what is a very important milestone in your life.
The Impero Magazine is your go-to guide for buying, selling, and everything in between.
